Changli Cui Luo is an interdisciplinary artist, artistic researcher, and storyteller. She/they was born in an ethnic minority region in southwest China and is now based in Utrecht.

Grounded in her/their lived experience, her/their artistic practice and research focus on ethnic minority females and common futurisms, situated within broader feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial practices. Through the body, image, ritual, and writing, she/they wander between archives and imagination, seeking to construct an embodied mode of knowledge production that exceeds singular, linear narratives.

Recently, her/their research and practice have been guided by the question “How can we live otherwise?” She/they have been visiting and engaging with different alternative communities across China and Europe, including intentional communities, youth communities, and eco-communities. At the same time, she/they initiated the community research and study group, Living Otherwise, etc. Through situated community practices, she/they explore the possibilities of bottom-up, self-organised, and autonomous forms of living and practising, and continue to advance collaboration and cooperation as forms of activist practice.

Changli Cui Luo 是一位跨学科艺术家、艺术研究者与故事讲述者。她/她们出生于中国西南的少数民族地区,现居乌特勒支。

从自身的生命经验出发,她/她们的创作与研究聚焦于少数民族女性和共享未来主义,并将其置身于更广泛的女性主义、反种族主义与去殖民实践之中。通过身体、影像、仪式与写作等媒介,她/她们游走于档案与想象之间,探索一种超越单一线性叙事的、具身的知识生产方式。

近期,她/她们的研究与实践围绕着 “How can we live otherwise?” 展开。她/她们持续探访和参与中国与欧洲不同的另类社区(包括共识社区、青年社区与生态社区等),并发起社区研究与学习小组 “Living Otherwise”等,通过具体的社区实践,她/她们探索自下而上、自组织与自治生活和实践形式的可能性,并将合作与协作为一种行动主义方法持续推进。
