Towards a Pluriversity of the Arts
The project is initiated by Els Cornelis, teacher at Fine Art and Design in Education, and is called Towards a Pluriversity of the Arts (TaPotA). TaPotA consists of an artistic and practice-oriented design research in which we will jointly explore the possibilities of a new model for an art school - a PLURIVERSITY OF THE ARTS. An art school where no specific perspective is dominant, but different perspectives coexist. A world where many worlds fit (a quote from the Zapatistas in Mexico, in Escobar A., 2018). The intention and goal is to develop a multivoiced and inclusive pedagogy, and implement this in various educational lines within BAFA and FADE.
We form a research collective, TESTING, IMPLEMENTING, SHARING through programs such as Collective Work Meetings, Social Kitchens, etc. Artistic strategies/interventions take place at unexpected moments - after all, the collective is a 'guerrilla' movement – as well as at internal and external meetings, such as SK, training days, or exhibitions.
